There are more than 35,000 people living
with HIV and AIDS in Illinois, 28,000 are in metropolitan Chicago.
The vast majority of people living with HIV and AIDS live at or below
the poverty line, struggling to meet their daily needs while dealing
with a complex, debilitating and often fatal disease. Since 1981, 13,000 men, women
and children in metropolitan Chicago have died from AIDS. That’s
almost two people everyday! Vital Bridges helps
people throughout metropolitan Chicago impacted by HIV and AIDS to
improve their health and build self-sufficiency by providing food,
nutrition, housing, case management and educational services. Board of Directors
